This Football Fan Is About To Find Out Why It’s Not Smart To Toss A Cigarette At A Cop

As much as people that smoke would hate to have it there are just some places that you cannot light up a cigarette.

A spectator at last weekend’s NCAA football game between the SEC juggernaut Alabama Crimson Tide and the overmatched LSU Tigers made a very serious mistake.

Tuscaloosa’s Bryant-Denny Stadium, like all other college football venues, is a no smoking zone but a woman decided to not only fire up a cigarette, but when a law enforcement officer came to advise her of the rules, she made the error of not complying but also appeared to taunt the cop with her burning lung dart.

He quickly moved to resolve the problem by taking out his handcuffs and arresting the woman – there is no word on whether the fan was intoxicated but to do such a thing while sober would be extremely stupid.

AL.com reports on the incident as well as to clarify the stadium’s official smoking policy “Smoking in Bryant-Denny gets Alabama fan hauled off; here’s the stadium’s smoking policy”:

One Alabama fan learned the hard way about Bryant-Denny Stadium’s smoking policy.

Another fan caught the incident on camera, showing an officer standing over the woman who was smoking a cigarette.

After taking one more drag she holds the cigarette up in front of him before he takes out his handcuffs and attempts to take her into custody.

She yells and falls to the ground as the officer continues to try and escort the woman from her seat.

Here’s what you’ll find under the “Smoke Free Campus” section of the “Football Changes” page on the UA Gameday website:

“Like many other campuses nationwide, The University of Alabama is now a Smoke Free Campus. The change, effective Jan. 1, 2015, is designed to make the campus a healthier environment for our students, faculty, staff and visitors. Smoking of any lit product (including e-cigarettes) is prohibited on UA grounds, parking structures, athletic facilities and buildings. Whether you are a smoker or a non-smoker, UA knows that the campus community will demonstrate thoughtfulness, consideration and cooperation as we work together to successfully implement this campuswide policy.”
